The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) was created as a parody religion to demonstrate that divinity is in one’s imagination. We can all participate in ritual, fun and ethical behavior. Many atheist and humanist groups from around the world have taken up the call from the Holy Flying Spaghetti Monster to challenge  entrenched religious privilege and/or just to create fun and ethical community.

Oh Flying Spaghetti Monster,
In your infinite noodliness,
We gather under the warmth of your al dente embrace,
Grateful for the hearty balls of wisdom you bestow.
May your pasta strands entwine us in kindness,
And your marinara of compassion pour over us all.
Grant us the strength to boil with patience,
And to rise, like garlic bread, in the face of challenges.
We ask not for divine intervention,
But for the courage to stir the sauce of our own lives,
To season it with respect, reason, and responsibility.
Let us embrace all people, from penne to farfalle,
With the understanding,
That we are all part of the same great pasta pot.
